Summer Reading Program – “Imagine Your Story”

We invite you to join us for this year’s summer reading program, “Imagine Your Story.” We have a fun-filled summer ahead with lots of exciting books to read and special virtual library events. Don’t
miss our virtual kick-off event with Jester Jim on Wednesday, July 8 at 2:00 pm LIVE on YouTube.
The summer reading program will look different this year as our physical spaces are not available due to ongoing construction and COVID-19. Unfortunately, we will not be hosting any large group events at the library this summer.
Reading, however, can be done any time and any place! And after a season of online learning for many of you Wadsworth Library wants to prioritize a summer of reading for pleasure and fun family
activities. To meet this goal and to adapt to our limited space we have simplified our summer program. Each age bracket (preschoolers, kids, and teens) has a separate online folder providing instructions, event information, Facebook challenges, and weekly BINGO sheets. Each week a new BINGO sheet will be made available and participants can work through them at their own pace. Each completed BINGO sheet earns a free prize book from the library. Participants may earn up to four free books throughout the month of July!
1. Summer Reading Registration began Monday, June 29 and the sign up form for kids (ages 5-12) is available at https://forms.gle/QwY6TBHyADbGEDK69
2. Summer Reading BINGO sheets and additional resources for teens and preschoolers are available at https://tinyurl.com/SRBINGO2020
3. The kick-off event with Jester Jim will be Wednesday, July 8 at 2:00 pm LIVE on YouTube: https://youtu.be/TwA79E8Y56o
Wadsworth Library is now open for holds pick-up and takeout services from 10:00-1:00 pm and 4:00-7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. If you’d prefer to register your child using a paper form, please call ahead and ask for one to be added to your holds pick-up. Takeout services will be available by appointment only. The public will not be allowed in the library building until later this summer. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! Children’s Librarian Sarah Matthews can be reached at smatthews@pls-net.org or by calling the library at (585) 243-0440. Happy Reading!

Adult Book Bingo Challenge

Adults check out our summer reading bingo challenge! The challenge runs for four weeks, so there will be four bingo cards to play. To sign-up go to https://forms.gle/XNi5Q3NMgowTqDAS6. Bingo cards will be available at https://tinyurl.com/adultsr2020 to download and print. They will also be on our website and social media pages. Email completed bingo cards to our adult services and outreach assistant Brandy Finocchario at bfinocchario@pls-net.org.

When you visit the library to pick them up, you can complete the verification process.

Wadsworth Library Takeout Service

The library is now providing takeout service to our patrons. This service will be available from 10:00 am -1:00 pm and 4:00 pm -7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. To support social distancing, we are operating with a very limited staff. We appreciate your patience, as wait times may be longer than usual.

Here’s How It Works:
Place your items on hold by going to our online catalog www.owwl.org and place items you’d like on hold. You will be limited to 7 items per library card. All items must be on the shelf at Wadsworth Library.

Make sure the pickup location is set to Wadsworth Library as well. If you need assistance placing your holds, please call us at 585-243-0440.

*Since there are no van deliveries, we cannot receive materials from other libraries.
We will call you to schedule a pickup time. Please contact the library if your phone number has recently changed. We will do our best to get to everyone as quickly as possible, while maintaining a safe work environment. Come and get your items.
Please arrive at your scheduled pickup time and call 585-243-0440 and let a staff person know you’ve arrived. A due date receipt will be included along with your items. Please remember Wadsworth Library remains closed to the public. Lobbies, restrooms, and computers are not accessible at this time. If you would like to return materials, please use the outside book drop.

In order to respect the need for social distancing, patrons and staff should not approach one another when you come to pick up your items. This may feel uncomfortable, but it is necessary to maintain safe conditions for everyone. Please feel free to call us at 585-243-0440 if you have questions or concerns about picking up your items.
