A Casual Conversation: Seniors in our Community – Wednesday, October 27 at 2:00 pm

Please join us for the first in a series of Casual Conversations. A Casual Conversation: Seniors in our Community will focus on services of interest to adults in the 55+ age group. We will be talking about what is working well for seniors in our community and what residents would like to see more of. We then hope to narrow it down and see where the library might fit in. We are focusing on this age group because when we updated our Long Range Plan a year ago one of the areas targeted for improvement was the library’s services for senior citizens.

The conversation will last for approximately one hour and will be followed by a tour of the new children’s area for those who haven’t yet seen it. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to geneseolibrarydirector@owwl.org or call the library at

585-243-0440 to let us know if you’ll be able to attend.

Here are the questions we’ll be discussing:

What works well in our community for residents ages 55 and over? What makes you stay here?

What do you wish there was more of in our community?

If you had to relocate to another city, town or village, what criteria would you use to select a new community?

If you’re a regular library user, what is it that keeps you coming back? Why do you come to the library?

If you’re NOT a library user, what would be a compelling reason to make you come to the library?

How do you learn about events taking place in our community?
