The library is now providing takeout service to our patrons. This service will be available from 10:00 am -1:00 pm and 4:00 pm -7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. To support social distancing, we are operating with a very limited staff. We appreciate your patience, as wait times may be longer than usual.
Here’s How It Works:
Place your items on hold by going to our online catalog www.owwl.org and place items you’d like on hold. You will be limited to 7 items per library card. All items must be on the shelf at Wadsworth Library.
Make sure the pickup location is set to Wadsworth Library as well. If you need assistance placing your holds, please call us at 585-243-0440.
*Since there are no van deliveries, we cannot receive materials from other libraries.
We will call you to schedule a pickup time. Please contact the library if your phone number has recently changed. We will do our best to get to everyone as quickly as possible, while maintaining a safe work environment. Come and get your items.
Please arrive at your scheduled pickup time and call 585-243-0440 and let a staff person know you’ve arrived. A due date receipt will be included along with your items. Please remember Wadsworth Library remains closed to the public. Lobbies, restrooms, and computers are not accessible at this time. If you would like to return materials, please use the outside book drop.
In order to respect the need for social distancing, patrons and staff should not approach one another when you come to pick up your items. This may feel uncomfortable, but it is necessary to maintain safe conditions for everyone. Please feel free to call us at 585-243-0440 if you have questions or concerns about picking up your items.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I place a hold over the phone?
Yes! Just call give us a call at 585-243-0440. If we are busy, try back. Each time I call I’m sent to voicemail. Why can’t I get through?
Due to construction the library currently only has one phone line. We apologize for the inconvenience! Staff regularly check the pick up schedule and we will be watching for patrons. Your items may already be on the takeout table and if not we’ll arrive shortly.
How do I return materials?
If you need to return materials, please use our outside book return.
Are all materials available for pickup?
Yes! All materials currently on the shelf at Wadsworth Library are available for pickup. At this time, we are not able to get materials from other libraries, and we are not able to place interlibrary loan requests.
What if I have mobility issues and cannot leave my vehicle?
Don’t worry! In this situation, we can put items in your trunk or place them through a passenger window. Please notify staff of this situation when we call.
Do I need my library card?
No. We will check out your holds to you ahead of your arrival.
What if I have fines?
We are not charging fines at this time. If you have previous fines of more than $5 please call us at 585-243-0440 and we will work with you to find a solution.
What if I miss my pickup time?
If you miss your pickup time, call 585-243-0440 to reschedule. All holds that have not been picked up or rescheduled after 48 hours will be cancelled. I returned my books yesterday. Why are they still checked out to me? Any item returned to the library is quarantined for 72 hours. After the quarantine expires the item is checked in and will be removed from your account. What are you doing to protect the safety of patrons and staff?
The contactless service we are using provides maximum social distancing for both patrons and staff. Library staff will follow the safety guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control.
